Photography and Digital Media

I began taking photos almost 60 years ago, when I was about 17. I never managed to get my own darkroom, so embraced digital photography as soon as I could. After starting to scan old colour slides, I found they had deteriorated badly and needed extensive restoration. I soon applied those tools to the creation of digital prints. Initially this was by photomanipulation of the original image, then I began adding drawn elements using a graphics tablet, making digital collage and incorporating ‘found’ images into my own work. Eventually I moved on to creating images almost entirely digitally without photographic references.
