Infinity Grid

Infinity Grid shares many common characteristics with my earliest monotypes, such as strong, saturated blocks of colour, underlayers visible, and the bars of contrasting colours. However look closer and you can see the sinuous curves of Forbert and Carnival by the Sea, this time as an underlayer.

These prints are not made in a single session: layers are added over time in an intuitive process that responds to the outcomes of previous additions. Knowing when to stop is sometimes harder than knowing how to start, and it may take a couple of weeks after the final layer before I know the work is finished.
